Laura Berquist

Mrs. Laura Berquist


Laura is a homeschooling mother of six, is founder and director
of Mother of Divine Grace School, a home study program currently serving 3800
students. Mrs. Berquist is the author of Designing Your Own Classical
Curriculum and editor of The Harp and Laurel Wreath: Poetry and Dictation for
the Classical Curriculum, both from Ignatius Press. Based on the philosophy of
the classical Trivium – grammar, logic, and rhetoric – she has developed a
modern classical homeschool curriculum for grade K-12 that strengthens
character and intellect, and reinforces virtue.

Mrs. Berquist is a graduate of Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA.
She homeschooled her six children for 23 years. Five of those children have

now graduated from college, and three of them are married. The youngest child is graduating from college in May, 2010



Dr. Ray Guarendi

Dr. Ray Guarendi is a father, clinical psychologist, author, public speaker and
radio host. His experience includes school districts, Head Start programs, mental
health centers, substance abuse programs, inpatient psychiatric centers, juvenile
courts, and a private practice.

Dr. Guarendi has been a regular guest on national radio and television, including
Oprah, Joan Rivers, Scott Ross Prime Time, 700 Club, Gordon Elliot, and CBS
This Morning. He's appeared on regional radio and television shows in over 40
states and Canada. He has been the program psychologist for Cleveland's
Morning Exchange, Pittsburgh 2-Day, and AM Indiana. He has written several
books, including Discipline That Lasts a Lifetime, You’re a Better Parent Than
You Think!, now in its twenty-fifth printing, Back to the Family, and his newest
book, Good Discipline, Great Teens.



Dr. Catherine Moran

Dr. Moran is the author of the book, The Doorway to Heaven, and the soon to be published, Home Schooling for Heaven, not Harvard, which is currently in its editing stage.

Mrs. Moran received her B.A. degree with majors in Biology, Chemistry and Speech/Hearing Therapy from Kent State University, and her MS.Ed. (Masters of Science in Education) and Ph.D. in Education from Breyer State University.

She has eighteen years of experience home schooling her 5 children, including one son who is a dyslexic and had ADHD. She and her husband, David, adopted two of their children (a brother and sister) from Ukraine several years ago.

She is president of the Catholic Home School Network of America (CHSNA); member of the Round Table, a national organization of Catholic Home Schooling leaders; founder and past leader of the Ohio Educators’ Catholic Home Schooling Network, and a member of the CHSNA delegation to Rome on behalf of Catholic Home Education, which visited with Pope John Paul II in 1995 and 1997.

Dr. Moran is a secular Franciscan, and served as prefect of her fraternity for three years. She is presently secretary-treasurer of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, and speaker of its Byzantine Chapter of Warren, Ohio.

She has been a keynote speaker at many conferences and retreats, and is a steadfast promoter of Mary-like modesty.


Fr. Augustine Tran

Fr. Augustine Tran was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and immigrated to America in 1974. He studied Aerospace Engineering at Notre Dame University and Georgia Tech, where he began to realize his vocation.  He entered the seminary for the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1992, and, after ordination, served at parishes in Douglasville, Decatur, and Dunwoody before studying Canon Law at the Catholic University of America. Since 2004, he has taught theology, Algebra, and Latin at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School.  His conversion story, Chosen, has been published by Ignatius Press and is set for release in a few months.



Ginny Seuffert

Mrs. Virginia Seuffert, "Ginny," a native New Yorker and mother of twelve, currently resides in Illinois with her husband.

While in New York, Mrs. Seuffert lectured, debated, and wrote a number of articles for the Pro-Life movement. After moving to Illinois, she became a founding member of the Network of Illinois Catholic Home Educators, helped establish the "Round Table" (a Catholic home school leadership discussion group), and became a founder and officer of the Catholic Home School Network of America.

Mrs. Seuffert has appeared on EWTN, and has spoken at numerous Catholic family conferences throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is the author of various articles on home education, particularly stressing the teaching of virtues and discipline. Mrs. Seuffert wrote the chapter on "Home Management" in Dr. Mary Kay Clark’s book, "Catholic Home Schooling: A Parent’s Guide."


Antony Barone Kolenc

Antony Barone Kolenc is an attorney in the U.S. Air Force, and an adjunct faculty member at Saint Leo University. He served as a firefighter and intelligence officer prior to completing his law degree at the University of Florida and entering the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.

Tony has published law-related articles in several magazines and professional journals. He is also the author of The Chronicles of Xan trilogy, an inspirational historical fiction series for youth. He speaks on a variety of legal subjects, and is a member of The Maximus Group's Speaker's Bureau.

A father of one boy and four girls, Tony and his wife, Alisa, have been involved in homeschooling for over a decade. He has worked with youth through church ministry, home-school groups, scouts, and pro-life activities.

Born and raised in New Jersey, military service has given Tony and his family the opportunity to experience life throughout America, including Texas, Virginia, Florida, California, and Colorado. He currently resides with his family in Georgia.


Mark and Nancy Fiorentino
Mark and Nancy Fiorentino were married in 1992, are homeschooling parents of six and are members of the Apostolate for Family Consecration®. Prior to their involvement with the Apostolate, they were active in college campus ministry and senior high youth ministry. They have used the Apostolate's catechetical resources since 1993 to catechize their family. During this time, they have been actively involved in sharing family catechetical tools and resources in various workshops and parishes, as well as, learning and sharing Pope John Paul II's formula for consecrating the family to the Holy Family.

Alan Jemison
A radical traditionalist who gives little credit to his educational and music performing background, Alan Jemison has devoted his life and work to fostering the musical education of our children. His sincere concept that, as throughout history, all good must be measured by the known and accepted good, and that all efforts to contribute to the Art must, to be readily understood and appreciated, be rooted in and reflect the tradition, has constantly guided him in his production of learning materials for our children which are steeped in our rich musical heritage. His talk Where has the Musical Tradition Gone? will shed some light on this notion.

His company, Alan Jemison Music (www.aljem.com), publishes many of his works, including: Beginning at the Piano (7 volumes), Reading at the Piano (4 volumes), Singing Our Musical Heritage (first volume of many to come), Sing Praise to God by Note (sight-singing manual with sing-along recordings), 36 Traditional Roman Catholic Hymns (very popular, especially at MODG), and many more hymn and liturgical music collections which include Latin and English materials.


Fr. Omar Loggiodice
The Miami native, 38, is the son of Omar and Virginia Loggiodice, one of three children. An electronics engineer, he worked in the computer software industry for more than 15 years. He said he first felt a call to the priesthood more than a decade ago in 1996. The Eucharist has been important in his life from very early on and continues to be a driving force in his relationship with God. He recalls participating in perpetual adoration at his parish of St. Catherine of Siena, Kennesaw. Additional Languages Spoken: Italian, Spanish, reads Latin Education: Electronic engineering, Simon Bolivar University, Caracas, Venezuela. Master’s in divinity, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, Md. Work Experience: Fifteen years in the computer software industry in application development.
Misty Spinelli Misty Spinelli is a Catholic mother of many and owner of a homeschool resource center that serves hundreds of homeschool families in the Charlotte, NC area. She is an accomplished speaker with extensive experience in homeschooling speaking on such topics as using a real book approach to teaching in early elementary and Learning to Draw: The Importance of Observation and Right Brain Thinking.

Fr. Jack Durkin
Father Jack Durkin is Pastor of St. Monica's Catholic Church in Duluth, Georgia. A native of Darby, Pa., he grew up in North Carolina, graduated from Wake Forest University and received a master's degree in teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill. He taught and coached in Macon and Athens, Georgia before entering the seminary. He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1999.
